Forgot to out the picture of our apartment I mentioned at the end of the last posting!

Third house up from water.   Big white roof.   We live in one half of basement....   Nicest views!

Thanksgiving day in Santo!

Took a boat to Aore Island just out our window.   It is about a 20 minute ride.   The Kearns and Barbara, our landlady went.    Beautiful!   Great day

This island has a interesting history.   It use to be a leper colony but when the French came here it is rumored that they poisoned all the lepers.   It is mainly inhabited by Australians and New Zealanders...with their holiday houses and small resorts like the one we went to.   Ni vans tend not to live there.

Here is a picture of our apartment from the water coming back across in the boat.    It is the 3rd house
up from the water.   We live downstairs on one side and Elder and Sis Kearns live on the other side
Down stairs.   Our landlord has the whole top floor.....

Picking pineapples!

New Zealand

Traveled to New Zealand for a few days of training.  We were able to go to the Temple near Hamilton for a session.   My grandfather John Elmer Howell served a mission here in NZ from 1903 to 1906.   I was able to find a woman named Rangi Parker who has been collecting history on the missionaries that served missions in NZ for over 20 years. and has put together a book with their stories.   She is getting another one together and is very anxious to get grandpa Howells information to include.    It was a very sweet experience talking with her,   She sang to us as she was a singer as a younger woman before she had an accident that should have taken her life.    As she sang she just stopped and said, I feel your, grandpas spirit here with us and we all wept.    Yes, grandpa, I know you served The Lord here and the people of,New Zealand.
