SOLOMON ISLANDS!

Spent a week in the Solomon Islands, on the island of Guadalcanal where WWII was fought. We would walk the road called the "cola trail" in the mornings. It was the front line where the Americans and the Japanese fought each other. it is a beautiful ridge. It was called the cola trail because both sides would drink cola and toss the bottles. Now you see "Beatle nut" stands lining the roads. Beetle nut is a stimulant that causes all sorts of social and health problems. All ages of children sell it at stands all over the islands. When they smile they have redish stain on their mouths. It is sad.
